Reading Time: 5 minutes
Whose ready for glitter, glitz and tons of drama? RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars is back for season five! The cast was just revealed featuring some of America’s favorite returning queens who are battling it out once again for the crown. Did your favorites make the cut?
This is a spin-off show of the original RuPaul’s Drag Race. Past contestants are invited back to compete in challenges to earn their spot in the Drag Race Hall of Fame. The challenges include acting, lip synching, designing outfits and dancing. If you want to be thoroughly entertained by hilarious talent, this is a new show for you to watch.
Alexis Mateo
Alexis Mateo came in third place on season three of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Her drag daughter Vanessa Vanjie Matteo became a global phenomenon when she first appeared on season 10. Now, Alexis is looking to show her contagious personality and that she is more than just a pageant queen. She also competed on the first season of ‘All Stars’ and was eliminated in episode four. Could season five finally be the redemption that Alexis has been seeking for years? Alexis definitely has the star quality that it takes to win and it’s so cool to see queens from the first few seasons return to the stage.
Blair St Clair
Blair St Clair competed on season 10 and came in ninth place. She has had some completely iconic fashion looks on the show. Her makeup is always clean and precise and emphasizes her high cheekbones. Blair was definitely eliminated way too early on her original season so it will be fun to see what she can do in all-stars. She shared her touching story about overcoming being raped at a college party with viewers and it showed that she is strong and a survivor. Not to mention, Blair released a ton of powerful original music and won’t let anything get her down.
Derrick Barry
The resident Britney Spears impersonator is back! Derrick is known for making a splash after placing fifth on season eight of RuPaul’s Drag Race. But, you may also recognize Derrick from making it all the way to the quarterfinals on season three of America’s Got Talent. She has even appeared in music videos for Katy Perry and Eminem. Will Derrick be able to pull away from her Britney persona and show another side of herself during this season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars?
India Ferrah
India Ferrah competed on season three along with Alexis Matteo. She placed 10th overall. India was involved in one of the first ‘Drag Race’ controversies when she was infamously picked up by Mimi Imfurst during the “Don’t Leave Me This Way” lip-sync. Like literally, Mimi lifted India up over her head which prevented India from being able to dance and lip-sync to save herself from elimination. Now, India has put all of the season three drama behind her and is ready to slay the competition.
Jujubee
Jujubee came in third on season two of RuPaul’s Drag Race. She is definitely a fan-favorite who also appeared on the first season of ‘All Stars.’ Jujubee is probably one of the most popular contestants of all time so it makes complete sense why RuPaul brought her back for the third time. Not only does she have style, but her makeup skills are on point. She also is absolutely hilarious so in the comedy challenges this season, it will be hard for the other queens to outshine her. Could this be the season where Jujubee finally takes the crown?
Mariah Balenciaga
Mariah Balenciaga was eliminated fifth on season three. She always had very elegant looks but sometimes struggled when it came time to perform in a group. She was outshined in a lip sync battle with Delta Work when she forgot the words to the song. But now, Mariah is out for the crown and wants to win. She just better remember the lyrics this time!
Mayhem Miller
Mayhem Miller placed 10th on season 10 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Her elimination was shocking because as a pageant queen she was one of the favorites to win. She is well-known around the West Hollywood drag scene and is absolutely gorgeous. From the totally snatched makeup to the perfectly altered outfits that she wears, Mayhem is a force to be reckoned with. She won the first challenge on her season so we expect Mayhem to come straight out of the gate on ‘All Stars’ seeking the crown.
Miz Cracker
Miz Cracker’s elimination on season 10 during the Cher challenge was devastating for many. She had one of the biggest fan bases after being well known for many years in the New York City drag Scene. Mix cracker is a comedy queen who loves to make people laugh. She was actually asked to be on season four of ‘All Stars’ but declined because she wanted to show more of her drag to the world by doing shows. But now, she has got her eye on the crown and we are so excited to see some iconic looks that we know she will create.
Ongina
Ongina placed fifth on season one. She is one of the OG’s from when the show first started. Ongina is completely unique being that she is a bald queen. She uses drag for her artistic expression, often turning out amazing looks that are very out of the box. Not to mention that she touched viewers with her story of living with HIV. Since her first elimination was so controversial, RuPaul definitely realized that this queen deserves a second chance in the spotlight.
Shea Coulee
Perhaps the most highly anticipated announcement of all is the return of season nine third-place finisher Shea Coulee. There is genuinely nothing that Shea can’t do. She was a favorite to win her season and everyone is absolutely buzzing that we get to see more of her on our television screens. Whether it is acting or dancing, this queen will slay the competition. She was asked to be on the previous two seasons of ‘All Stars’ but has finally decided that now is her time to shine.
Who is your favorite queen that is set to compete on season five of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars?
