Kelly Clarkson on 'The Kelly Clarkson Show'

Fans of The Kelly Clarkson Show can apparently rest easy, because a rep for the talk show has denied recent rumors that it will be ending after the current season. Clarkson is currently hosting the seventh season of the Emmy-winning show.

The Kelly Clarkson Show Is Apparently Not Ending Soon

Earlier this month, it was reported that The Kelly Clarkson Show would likely be ending after the current season, with a source saying the show was “not sustainable anymore.” However, a rep for the show told a different story to Entertainment Weekly.

“Rumor!” the rep reportedly wrote to the outlet, adding that producer and distributor NBC “will advise directly if there is a show update.” The rep apparently added of the show’s progress, “We are not even halfway through season 7!”

The current season of The Kelly Clarkson Show premiered last September. As of this writing, the show has not been officially renewed for an eighth season. Clarkson started hosting the talk show in 2019. Since then, it has earned 22 Daytime Emmy Awards — including four for Clarkson as host.

Clarkson Was Absent from the Show Last Year

Last year, during the show’s sixth season, Clarkson was absent from several episodes of The Kelly Clarkson Show, prompting concern from fans. Several celebrity guest hosts stepped in to take Clarkson’s place for the episodes she missed.

At the time, a specific reason was not given for Clarkson’s absence. However, it was likely due to her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock’s battle with cancer. Blackstock passed away last August at age 48. He and Clarkson shared two children.
