American Idol Season 16 finalist Gabby Barrett took to Instagram over the weekend to share some pregnancy updates with fans as she prepares to leave Jason Aldean’s tour after the August 27 date. The singer was honest about the challenges of touring while pregnant.
Gabby Barrett Gives Pregnancy Health Update
The American Idol alum answered some fan questions on Instagram stories, sharing that during her first pregnancy with daughter Baylah, she suffered from “a very bad case of PUPPS rash that covered my entire body,” and she later had postpartum preeclampsia, which is characterized by high blood pressure.
“I had to get on blood pressure medication when I was 20,” The 22-year-old singer wrote, according to Country Now. “Thankful God provides doctors for help.”
On the other hand, Gabby shared that during this pregnancy (which was “not really” planned), she’s been struggling with very low blood pressure, which affects her energy levels and makes it harder to perform on Aldean’s tour.
“Okay. I love performing. It is getting difficult though,” Gabby wrote. “What people don’t really see is there is alooooooottt of sitting around all day before the show… Which makes everyone groggy.”

She Is Leaving the Tour This Month
Gabby is set to go on maternity leave at the end of August, so she won’t be performing in the rest of Jason Aldean’s tour, which is scheduled to continue through October. After August 27, Gabby will be replaced on tour by Chase Rice, Tracy Lawrence, and Travis Tritt.
Aldean made this announcement in May, not long after Gabby and her husband Cade Foehner surprised fans with an ultrasound video, revealing that they’re expecting a baby boy. The couple met on American Idol and got married in 2019.
Cade also plays guitar for Gabby during her live performances. In January 2021, the couple welcomed a baby daughter named Baylah May.
