Peta Murgatroyd, Maksim Chmerkovskiy Update Fans About IVF Journey

Former Dancing with the Stars pro dancers Peta Murgatroyd and Maskim Chmerkovskiy are keeping fans updated about their journey with IVF as they try to conceive their second child together. Murgatroyd recently revealed that she had suffered three miscarriages.

Since Chmerkovskiy and Murgatroyd have revealed their IVF journey earlier this month, they’ve shared videos related to the manner on social media. On June 28, Murgatroyd gave fans an up close and personal view of her recent ultrasound.
“I’m gonna show you guys what my follicles look like,” Murgatroyd joked in a video posted to Instagram, referring to the fluid-filled sacs in the ovaries which contain immature eggs. “Meet my follicles with me.”
“Today is the first time I actually feel pregnant,” Murgatroyd said after receiving an injection at the appointment. She clarified that she’s not pregnant, but after nine or ten days on the medication, she feels like it’s working.
She and Chmerkovskiy laughed with each other as they filmed the appointment with Dr. Mark Surrey. Afterward, Murgatroyd shared that she had 11 “huge follicles” in one of her ovaries, and 17 in another, saying, “Let’s just have a lot of babies. Let’s have, like, a soccer team.”

Murgatroyd Has Suffered Three Miscarriages
The couple’s journey to have a second baby together hasn’t been easy. Recently, Murgatroyd revealed that she had suffered three miscarriages. The first happened in 2020, while she was competing on Dancing with the Stars. She didn’t tell her fellow cast members at the time.
The next miscarriage happened eight months later, as she was preparing to tell her husband she was pregnant. Then last October, she flew to Ukraine to visit Chmerkovskiy and try to conceive. On the way back, she contracted Covid-19 and lost her strength while at home. During a visit to the doctor, she found out that she had gotten pregnant but once again miscarried.
The couple is now working with a fertility doctor to try conceiving another baby through in vitro fertilization. Murgatroyd and Chmerkovskiy already share a son together, named Shai, who was born in 2017. The pair got married later that same year.
