American Idol Season 20 winner Noah Thompson has released the official music video for his song “Middle of God Knows Where.” The clip provides a visual interpretation of the track’s emotional lyrics about a breakup.

Noah Thompson Releases ‘Middle of God Knows Where’ Video

Thompson released “Middle of God Knows Where” in June as the title track on his debut EP. The song is about dealing with the end of a relationship, as Thompson sings, “You sure as hell ain’t in the bottom of this drink / You must be out there / In the middle of God knows where.”

The track’s music video depicts a fictional couple. The man reminisces about their life together, as the video cuts back and forth between him alone and the two of them looking happy and in love. Thompson also appears in the video to perform the song, wearing a T-shirt and a baseball cap.

The singer premiered the video on his YouTube channel on Thursday, as fans in the live chat shared their appreciation for the project. “Middle of God Knows Where” is one of six songs currently available on Thompson’s EP.

The Singer Teased the Video This Week

Thompson teased the song’s official music video on Instagram earlier this week, sharing a behind-the-scenes sneak peek that shows him performing with his band. Thompson wrote in the caption, “I may very well be having my very first official music video coming out tomorrow, can’t wait for y’all to see it!! Stay tuned.”

Thompson has actually previously released videos for his song “Make You Rich” and his cover of Rihanna’s “Stay.” However, the “Stay” video is marked as a visualizer. He also released a visualizer for his song “One Day Tonight,” showing him in the studio.

The singer has several live shows lined up later this month, as well as more going into August, September, and October. He’ll be performing at the Bell County Fair in Wallsend, Kentucky, this Friday. You can see a list of upcoming dates here.
