The Masked Singer Season 5 winner Nick Lachey has reportedly been ordered to attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and anger management classes over an incident with a paparazzi photographer last year.

Nick Lachey Ordered to Attend AA Over Paparazzi Incident

About a year ago, Lachey was caught on camera getting into an altercation with a paparazzi photographer who was taking pictures of him and his wife Vanessa. Lachey later tweeted that he had “overreacted” but said reports that he had gotten violent were “absolutely false.”

Jody Santos, the photographer involved in the incident, told The Daily Mail that Lachey has been ordered to attend 52 sessions of anger management classes and attend AA. Santos reportedly filed a police report and complaint with the Beverly Hills Police and finally got results after months of phone calls with the District Attorney’s office.

Footage of the incident from last March shows Lachey reaching into the photographer’s car through the partially open window and attempting to take her phone. According to Santos, Lachey also punched her car window.

“In all my years of photographing celebrities, no one has ever tried to hit me,” Santos said. “I am just relieved that I rolled up my window as fast as I did, otherwise he would have knocked me out. No doubt about it.”

Lachey Has Reportedly Not Been Charged

Although The Daily Mail reports that Lachey was charged with assault and battery, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office shared a statement with People saying he has actually not been charged.

“Mr. Lachey has not been charged with misdemeanor assault and battery. Instead he is participating in LADA’s Prefiling Diversion program, which was established in 2017,” the statement reads. “As part of these conditions he must participate in anger management classes and attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. Successful completion of the Prefiling Diversion Program will result in no criminal charges being filed.”

Together with his wife Vanessa, Lachey hosts the Netflix dating show Love Is Blind. He’s also the solo host of another Netflix dating show called Perfect Match. Lachey was also previously a judge on the FOX talent show Alter Ego.
