The Voice returned to NBC on Monday night for the final episode of the Playoffs. Within this episode, Team Snoop and Team Niall showed off their talent on the stage. The Mic Drop winner has also been officially released.
Team Snoop Kicked Off The Night With Powerful Ballad
The night began with an extremely strong performance by Team Snoop. Yoshihannaa, who previously impressed with “You’re All I Need To Get By” by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, sang “And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going” by Jennifer Holliday.
Next on Team Snoop was Mindy Miller. She performed an energetic rendition of “Not Ready to Make Nice” by The Chicks. The final singer of Team Snoop was none other than Toni Lorene, who some may know as a voice actor on Cocomelon. The singer performed a powerful rendition of “Bust Your Windows” Jazmine Sullivan. This performance earned the strongest reaction of all the singers of the night. Both the audience and coaches were seen on their feet after this performance.
The final singer of the episode was Ralph Edwards, who sang “A Song For You” by Donny Hathaway. Snoop Dogg compared his voice to Teddy Swims, saying that Ralph could release music on the same caliber if given the platform.
After considering, Snoop Dogg chose Ralph Edwards as the artist continuing into the Finale. Remaining singers can now be voted upon via America’s vote. Of the six remaining singers, only one will continue into the Finale.
Team Niall Impresses With Song Arrangements
Team Niall also performed on the final Playoff episode. The first singer from Horan’s team, Kirbi, performed “Something in The Water” by Carrie Underwood. The rendition of this song was good, but it was clear that Kirbi’s nerves were at the front of her voice.
Following was Aiden Ross, who sang “The Blower’s Daughter” by Damien Rice. It’s no secret that Aiden is a front runner in the competition, beloved by many. College student Ava Nicole took on possibly the toughest song in the competition, “Ceilings” by Lizzy Mcalpine. Ava did a great job arranging the song for her own tone.
Finally, Dek of Hearts took the stage singing “Helplessly Hoping” by David Crosby, Graham Nash, and Stephen Stills. This was a huge throwback to 2021 when Girl Named Tom broke the internet with their pitch-perfect, harmonized performance of the same song. After their performance it was announced that they won the Mic Drop competition and will be performing at the upcoming Rose Parade.
Horan ultimately chose Aiden Ross as his artist that will represent his team in the Finale. Luckily for fans, America’s vote will send one remaining artist into the Finale. Voting is now open, be sure to get your vote in before 7 a.m. ET on Tuesday, December 9.
The Voice returns to NBC on Monday, December 15, at 9PM ET. The Voice will complete their season on Tuesday December 16, at 9PM ET with their highly anticipated results show.
