Cyrus Created ‘Bright Minded’ to Provide Emotional Support for People All Over the World
“I created the show for emotional support at a very stressful time full of chaos and confusion and fear and panic, and I wanted to bring light into a dark time,” the star said during her third episode.
She called on viewers to donate to organizations that specialize in helping people in their times of financial need. She listed Feeding America, Second Harvest Foodbank of Middle Tennessee, Oasis Center Emergency Housing, and the California Community Foundation.
The show has also become a space for celebrities to open up. Another close friend of Cyrus’, Selena Gomez candidly revealed her bipolar diagnosis on the show.
“I happened to catch it [Bright Minded] one day and loved what she was doing and knew I wanted to be a guest,” Gomez later told the Wall Street Journal. “I liked the rawness of the show. I feel like people are yearning for that type of realism right now. Not something overly produced.”
“Miley has never been afraid to take risks or put herself out there,” Gomez added. “This new role really seems to suit her, and you can tell she’s really enjoying herself.”
Cyrus explained that giving that space on her talk show and connecting with her guests on the show is something that she loves.
