Warren Peay has instantly become an American Idol fan favorite due to his comforting country locals. Branded now to be the Christian Chris Stapleton of the series, Warren vouches to do more and give more to be the show’s next winner.

Warren Peay is a Country Musician That Can Cross Over Any Genre

Belting out “To The Table” by Zach Williams during his audition, this South Carolina native quickly impressed all judges. Katy Perry particularly noticed and pointed out his authenticity as a singer. Lionel Richie even forecasted that he could flawlessly make it to the Top 10. Consequently, he effortlessly moved to the Hollywood Week and has proven himself some more.

Coming from a small town, Warren said that he lives in a community “where everybody talks about leaving but nobody does.” Outside the realm of music, Warren is an appliance repair technician and a worship leader in their Baptist church.

Yet, while he has made himself noticeable with the unintentional resemblance of his face and voice to acclaimed musician Chris Stapleton, he also knew how to break misconceptions. Back in Top 26, he surprised fans and judges with his rendition of Adele’s “Set Fire to the Rain,” going against his usual country flair.

“Everybody was not seeing Adele about to happen when you walked out, but that’s a part of this game: to do things that people aren’t expecting,” Luke Bryan said.

He’s in the Top 12 of American Idol

Warren’s interesting song choice in the Top 26 has booked him a spot in the Top 20. During the round, he then sang “Up There Down Here” by Zach Williams. Subsequently, he became one of the contestants to have been chosen to be a part of the Top 12.

Celebrating the milestone by singing “It’s Not My Time” by 3 Doors Down, he incorporated a country touch to the alternative rock song. From beginning to end of the performance, an energetic and unusually lively Warren was seen onstage.

Clearly, Warren has a big probability of getting into the next round of the competition. To know if Warren will continue to advance until the Finale, be sure to tune in on American Idol, airing on Sunday and Monday nights at 8 PM ET on ABC.
