America’s Got Talent Season 8 contestant Tone the Chief is returning to the show’s stage almost 10 years later to compete on AGT: All-Stars. The rapper, who was known as Tone the Chiefrocca during his first appearance, got the judges dancing to his song “Booty,” or “B-Double-O-T-Y.”

Tone the Chief Was a One-Hit Wonder on AGT Season 8

Tone the Chief, whose real name is Anthony Granger, first auditioned for Season 8 of AGT in 2013, performing his song “B-Double-O-T-Y.” He was joined on stage by his hype man, his younger brother Colby (aka Coly Cole).

Granger had the judges dancing along to the track, which he wrote in 2004. When Howard Stern said he didn’t think the rapper would have another hit, Granger said he only needed one. Howie Mandel suggested that Granger should only perform that song during every appearance on the show.

And that’s exactly what he did. After receiving four “yes” votes from the judges, Granger moved on to the Quarterfinals, where he performed the same song again. Unfortunately, he was eliminated, but judge Mel B chose to bring him back as a wildcard in the Semifinals.

Granger was committed to being a one-hit wonder, so he returned once again with the same song. This time, Howard Stern buzzed the act. Granger didn’t make it to the Finals.

The Rapper Is Returning for All-Stars

Tone the Chief is one of 60 acts returning for AGT: All-Stars. Granger still describes himself as a one-hit wonder in the bio of his Instagram account, which hasn’t been updated since 2021 and mostly features family photos and videos.

Although “Booty” was Granger’s only song when he competed on the show the first time, his Instagram links to a YouTube video for the song “Have Some Fun,” which was posted last week, also featuring Loco S.A.B and SuperDay.

Granger is up against some pretty stiff competition on All-Stars. However, it will be interesting to see how the judges react to his performance. We’re particularly intrigued to see Simon Cowell’s reaction, as he wasn’t a judge when Granger first appeared on the show.
