Meet the Judges of Fox’s New Singing Show ‘Alter Ego’

In a brand new series premiering this Fall, undiscovered talent will get the chance to perform as their Avatar alter egos. The world’s first singing competition of its kind will air following the season six premiere of The Masked Singer.


On Alter Ego, dreams are reignited. Singers from all walks of life will transform into who they’ve always wanted to be. Here, contestants will be given the opportunity to show how they’ve always wanted to be seen. The new series will feature some of the biggest names in music to join the judging panel. Let’s meet the judges behind this never before seen format.

Alanis Morissette

One of the most popular artists to emerge from the era of 1990s contemporary rock. The seven time Grammy winner debuted Jagged Little Pill in 1995 before nine more acclaimed albums. “You Oughta Know” became one of her biggest hits. It won awards for Best Rock Song and Best Female Rock Vocal Performance at the Grammys.

The Canada native has contributed musically to theater, and has acted on screens both big and small. Morissette has also been an avid supporter of female empowerment and overall wellness. In 2019, her Broadway musical Jagged Little Pill was nominated for 15 Tony Awards. Most recently, her ninth studio album Such Pretty Forks in the Road was released.


Grimes

Claire Elise Boucher, known professionally as Grimes, is another Canadian singer/songwriter and producer. Growing up, Grimes attended a creative arts school in Vancouver. However, she didn’t focus on music until attending McGill University in Montreal. In 2010, her full length album Geidi Primes debuted. Her sophomore project, Halfaxa, trailed right behind the same year.

Most recently, Grimes had a baby with tech billionaire, Elon Musk. The surprising new couple stepped out together at the 2018 Met Gala, and have been together ever since.

Nick Lachey

Front-runner of the boyband, 98 Degrees, Nick Lachey is a bonafide ’90s icon. Raised in Cincinnati, Ohio he attended the School for Creative and Performing Arts. He later starred in the reality series Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica with his then-wife, Jessica Simpson.


This year, he won the fifth season of The Masked Singer taking on the “Piglet” persona. Lachey also served as a host on The Sing Off and Big Morning Buzz Live.

Will.i.am

This seven-time Grammy winner is best known for his role in the Black Eyed Peas. As a founding member, Will.i.am has released four solo, and eight studio albums, with the best selling group. The acclaimed artist and producer is currently a coach on The Voice UK and The Voice Kids. He was also featured on Songland, choosing to record Adam Freidman’s “Be Nice.” The artist has also appeared in several animated films including Rio, Rio 2 and Madagascar 2: Escape to Africa. Good thing he has experience in animation, it might come in handy on Alter Ego.

Rocsi Diaz

The Emmy award winning host is best known as the former co-host of 106 & Park, the wildly popular music mega show. Diaz formerly hosted Chicago’s radio station WPWX (92.3) As a daily correspondent on Entertainment Tonight, Diaz was best known for her knowledge isn music, movies, and entertainment. She is also a correspondent for the E! Network, where she dishes on celebrity current events. With one million followers on Instagram, she sure is an established staple in the pop culture world. She will be a great asset to Fox’s new show.
