Everything to Know About Power Duo, Philippines’s Sensational Dance Couple

Power Duo was the powerhouse acrobatic dance partners who won Pilipinas Got Talent back in 2016. They subsequently joined season three of Asia’s Got Talent, reaching the show’s Grand Finals. As they join AGT All-Stars this year, Power Duo promises to tug everyone at the heartstrings with their sincere dance steps and emotional song interpretations.
Power Duo Won Pilipinas Got Talent Season 5, Placed Third in Asia’s Got Talent Season 3
Composed of real-life couple An Jeaneth Portales and Gervin Minor, Power Duo has captured the hearts of many Filipinos during their journey on PGT. The two were just friends when they first stepped in the show, but they started dating after their moving audition. Such emotional moment prompted judge Robin Padilla to hit the Golden Buzzer, sending them straight to the Semifinals.
Power Duo’s dancing expertise alongside their undeniable chemistry have understandably made them the fan-favorite of the show. During the season Finale, Anjanette and Gervin took a landslide win upon garnering a 100 percent of votes from viewers and judges. Power Duo has become a game changer in PGT, becoming the first dance act to be the show’s grand winner after the first four seasons crowned all singing acts.
In 2019, they joined Asia’s Got Talent and impressed all three judges with their acrobatic contemporary dance act. Judge Anggun commented that the two “obviously know each other’s bodies really well” as it takes a high level of trust to execute their act. This rings true for An Jeaneth and Gervin, who were two years in a relationship at the time of their audition in the show.
The two advanced to the Finale of the competition, impressing both judges and audience with their performance. Despite so, they finished in third place, behind runner-up Yaashwin Sarawanan and winner Eric Chien.
They Got Married, Had Their First Child
Right after Asia’s Got Talent, Power Duo both graduated in college, with An Jeaneth getting a degree in Marketing and Gervin securing his diploma in Psychology. In 2021, An Jeaneth and Gervin finally tied the knot. In that same year, An Jeaneth gave birth to their first child, Javin Minor.
Yet, such major life shift didn’t lessen their love for dancing. In fact, Power Duo has explored a number of dancing styles and has been invited to perform in different venues around the country.
Last November, Power Duo announced on Instagram that they will be among the 60 talented acts competing in AGT All-Stars. Surely, the two have accumulated several experiences over the years to be a much stronger contender in the spin-off series.
