Meet Kate Kalvach, The Singer Camila Cabello Wants to Marry on ‘The Voice’

Kate Kalvach is one of four artists on Camila Cabello’s team moving on to the Live Playoffs of The Voice Season 22. Kate started the season on Blake Shelton’s team before Cabello stole her during the Knockouts.
The Voice Star Kate Kalvach Started Singing in Church
Kate is originally from Pittsburgh, but in recent years she’s lived in Oklahoma City. The singer is the daughter of a pastor and grew up singing in her parents’ church. The 27-year-old is currently the creative director for Hope Connection Church.
The singer met her husband Matt while performing in a jazz band during college. Matt, who is from the Czech Republic, is also a musician who performs under the name Kalwich. The couple got married in 2018, and Kate credits him with encouraging her to pursue The Voice.
Kate has already released several singles, including the 2017 track “Unshaken,” as well as the more recent songs “Clarity” and “Pieces of My Heart.” As she shared in her Spotify bio, she and her husband “create all of my music from scratch.” They even have a home studio.

Kate Is Going to the Live Playoffs
Kate auditioned for Season 22 of The Voice with a cover of “Rainbow” by Kacey Musgraves. Camila Cabello, Gwen Stefani, and Blake Shelton all turned their chairs for her performance. The coaches proceeded to fight over her, with Shelton even muting Cabello’s microphone to talk over her.
The singer chose to join Blake Shelton’s team. She went up against Madison Hughes in the Battles with a duet of “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” by Poison. Shelton chose to keep her on his team. Then in the Knockouts, Kate lost her spot on Team Blake after singing “Anyone” by Justin Bieber.
However, both Camila Cabello and John Legend hit their buttons to steal her. Cabello made an impassioned plea for Kate to join her team, even asking at one point, “Kate, will you marry me?” Although Kate informed her that she’s already married, she did choose to join Cabello’s team.
Now Kate is on her way to the Live Playoffs, which kick off Monday night on NBC. At this stage of the competition, it’s up to the viewers to vote for their favorite artists to move on.
