Masterchef Junior returns for Season 8 on March 17. The hit FOX cooking competition show announced that fans can expect to see sixteen young home cooks serving up tasty dishes while facing intense challenges. The new season premieres with 16 contestants ranging from 8 to 13 years old.

Gordon Ramsay returns as a judge and mentor for the young hopefuls. He is joined by chef Aarón Sánchez and wellness advocate and new judge Daphne Oz. The three judges will determine which young home cook will be named America’s next MasterChef Junior and take home the $100,000 grand prize.

Season 8 will be the toughest competition yet. The challenges will push our kid contestants to their limits. The competitions will include cooking a meal for diners at a historical renaissance fair. Contestants will participate in a wrestling themed episode. The show will also welcome Ramsay’s daughter, Tilly Ramsay, into the kitchen for a donut challenge.

In the premiere episode contestants must punch a hole through a wall of mystery ingredients, and make a dish featuring the item in their respective squares.

News of MasterChef Junior Season 8 comes after Ramsay and FOX Entertainment recently announce their production venture, Studio Ramsay Global. The company will develop, produce, and distribute culinary and lifestyle programming for FOX, Tubi, as well as the global market.

‘MasterChef Junior’ Returns After Covid-19 Halted Production

The show returns after a two year hiatus. Like other productions, Covid-19 halted Season 8 until now. MasterChef Junior usually performed well during their Tuesday night timeslot. Season 7 saw ratings growth and ended with the finale bringing in close to 4 million viewers. Eyes will be watching to see how well the show performs now that it is airing on Thursday nights.

MasterChef Junior continues to build a culinary empire. From cookbooks to games, the show has dominated the culinary TV landscape. The adorable kids are an added value.

Season 7 champion Che Spiotta has gone on to travel to schools, public events, and culinary projects across the US as a motivational guest speaker, private chef, as well as a brand ambassador.

Ramsay has his hands full with his recent Next Level Chef show premiere and also the renewal of Hell’s Kitchen Season 21 as well as 22.
