As DWTS gears up for its season 32, the Chmerkovskiy brothers discuss their potential return to the show. In addition, they discussed their views on the departure of Tyra Banks and the arrival of Hough as her replacement.
The news of DWTS returning to its original home on ABC for its season 32 after a stint on Disney+ was met with enthusiasm by Val. He also appreciated the exposure the show received on Disney+ but expressed excitement about bringing that uniqueness back to network television.
When asked about Banks’ departure as the show’s host after three seasons, both Val and Maks praised her for stepping into the role during a challenging time, acknowledging the difficulties posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the necessary safety protocols. Maks expressed his happiness for Ribeiro taking over as the new host, emphasizing his confidence in Ribeiro’s ability to excel in the role.
The Chmerkovskiy brothers enthusiastically welcomed Hough back into the ballroom. They highlighted her extensive experience within the show, having served as a dance pro, judge, and performer, and emphasized the importance of her familiarity and ties to the DWTS family. Maks described her joining as “awesome” and believed that her presence would enhance the show.
The Brothers Are Eager to Return to DWTS Along With Their Wives
Regarding their potential return to the show, Val, who has competed on DWTS for 18 seasons, confirmed his interest in coming back and revealed that his wife, Jenna Johnson, also wants to return.
Maks, on the other hand, last competed in season 25 in 2017, and while he seems content not to return to the competitive side of the show, he mentioned that his wife, Peta Murgatroyd, would love to make a comeback.
While waiting for confirmation about their participation in the upcoming season, Val and Maks are preparing for their new show, Savor After Hours, in Napa Valley. They expressed their excitement about the opportunity to continue their artistic endeavors and their appreciation for live performances.
