Luke Bryan has a lot to celebrate. His latest single, “Waves,” has just become the 27th no. one hit in his catalogue. With this accomplishment, the renowned country singer topped both the Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase charts this week. Co-written by Zach Crowell, Ryan Hurd, and Chase McGill, Bryan shared the news with fans last night via social media.
“It’s crazy to know we are five singles deep off the Born Here Live Here Die Here album,” Bryan said during an interview. “The longevity that country radio and my fans have given my career truly means a lot. I have never taken for granted that I get to make my living doing something that makes me so happy. Thank you for this #1 and loving a song about summer love!”
Fascinatingly, nearly every track Bryan has released since his 2010 hit “Rain Is a Good Thing” has reached the top of the Billboard country radio charts. “Waves” is joined by “Down To One,” “One Margarita,” “What She Wants Tonight,” and “Knockin’ Boots” on the list of number one hits.
Luke Bryan Directs a Heartfelt Story in the “Waves” Music Video
Bryan’s “Waves” music video follows the heartfelt story of a couple’s romantic journey. The singer narrates the scenes on screen with his emotional lyrics.
“You were made for summer just like these stars we’re under were made for lighting this July sky up. Blanket down, made for me and you ties up all night long, over and over. Crash into me and pull me closer, kiss by kiss one after another. Don’t let go, baby let this summer just keep on coming in waves, keep coming in waves,” Bryan sings in the chorus.
Currently, Bryan is preparing to embark on his popular, Farm Tour. The star-studded event aims to provide children growing up on farms with scholarships to attend college. At the moment, the singer is touring his Proud To Be Right Here show with the help of some special guests. The Peach Pickers and DJ Rock are Farm Tour veterans who have taken turns opening for Bryan at the event since 2012.
