Lionel Richie and Tyra Banks have teamed up for a tasty collaboration. The “All Night Long” singer partnered with Bank’s ice cream company, SMiZE Cream, for a new flavor based on his classic hit. Cleverly named, “All Night Love,” the desert showcases the flavors he grew up loving as a kid.

Like all SMiZE Cream flavors, Richie’s includes a “SMiZE Surprise” hidden inside made of caramel-scotch cookie dough. Customers can shop the product online or pickup in store at the Santa Monica, CA location.

The “All Night Love” flavor is currently a hot commodity on the SMiZe Cream website with a limit of two orders per box. Richie’s signature flavor is described as a vanilla ice cream with midnight cookie crumble swirl, salted caramel ribbons, and chocolate covered fudge hearts. My oh my, does that sound good.

The decadent flavor created in Richie’s likeness was developed by Dr. Maya Warren. Unsurprisingly, the scientist also developed flavors and offerings for Cold Stone Creamery. Additional varieties of the SMiZE Cream flavors include: The Best Vanilla I Ever Had, Strawberry BirthYAY! Cake, Brownies I Love You, Purple Cookie Mon-Star & Me, Chocolate Summer, Salted Caramel King, and Caramel Cookie Queen.

How Lionel Richie and Tyra Banks Teamed Up for SMiZe Cream

The two first met while on set of Richie’s 1996 music video for “Don’t Wanna Loose You.” From there, the model and singer developed a “fabulous friendship” leading up to the future business collaboration.

“First of all, ice cream is my jam,” Richie said. “It’s almost the same as writing a song. You have musicians and arrangers and your favorites and in this case, I’m writing my own song/flavor. There are 100 different ways to do each flavor and you find what you like to eat and hopefully it’s what everybody else likes too.”

Banks also admits to being a life-long Richie fan and has attended numerous concerts of his throughout his award-winning career. She was especially excited to add the chocolate-covered hearts to the recipe, paying homage to all his love songs. In close collaboration, the two would meet often to taste and refine the recipe.

“In developing ALL NIGHT LOVE, it would disappear so fast from our test and home kitchens because we would all grub on it until there was none left,” Banks said in an interview. “This was much to the chagrin of our ice cream scientist, Dr. Maya Warren, who kept telling us to just taste it and give notes — not to eat all of it!”

Richie’s signature flavor is available now on the SMiZE Cream website as well as in store at the Santa Monica location. The product is also available for Door Dash Delivery in New York and Los Angeles.
