Light Balance Gets The Crowd Pumped Up in the Latest ‘America’s Got Talent: The Champions’ Sneak Peek
Last Week on America’s Got Talent: The Champions we saw Justice Crew go from jump rope team to boy band…and it looks like Light Balance might be jumping on that bandwagon!
We’ve got the second episode of Champions coming tonight, and AGT has given us another little taste of what’s in store via their YouTube channel!
Light Balance – who placed third back in Season 12 – are one of the 10 acts performing tonight. You can check out their performance (and what the judges had to say about it) below!
This is pretty similar to what we saw from them back in their original season (though to be fair, there’s only so much that can be done within this specific niche) but they did change up a few things regarding the concept. Light Balance’s Season 12 performances all seemed to tell a loosely-connecting story, featuring recurring characters like the wolf man and the bearded guy (check out this performance for a sample of the characters I’m referring to) and they mostly used EDM and “party jams” as their music choices.
Their Champions act sees them switching things up a bit. It’s tribute to bands of the past, so while there’s still a bit of EDM in there at the end, the majority of the dancing is done to “I Was Made For Loving You” by KISS and “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back) by the Backstreet Boys. The dancers’ “outfits” are, appropriately, a mix of rock-in-roll group and boy band, and none of the troupe’s signature characters appear in this routine.
I also noticed this performance implemented more props, including the car at the beginning, electric guitars during the KISS segment, and drums for the drum solo. They also gave the drummer more complex facial expressions than I believe they’ve included in the past, so that was another new element to the act. (I also thought the four-handed drummer effect was pretty cute!)
Tune into America’s Got Talent: The Champions tonight at 8/7 c on NBC to watch Light Balance and the rest of this week’s acts perform and discover their fate!
