Liam Payne is Reportedly ‘Desperate’ to Get One Direction Reunion to Happen

Liam Payne is reportedly desperate for a reunion with his former bandmates, in a bid to relaunch his career. According to reports, Payne has been attempting to get in touch with Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and former bandmate Zayn Malik, although he is uncertain if he has “burnt his bridges” with Malik.

The news follows Payne’s reunion with Tomlinson at the premiere of his documentary, All Of Those Voices in London. A source revealed that Payne is eager to rejoin One Direction as his solo career has not been as successful as he had hoped, and he believes that the only way to win back his fans is through a reunion.
However, Payne has damaged his relationship with his former bandmates in recent years due to controversial remarks made on Logan Paul‘s podcast. Last year, the star caused an uproar among One Direction fans after claiming that the group was formed around himself and outsold his fellow bandmates with his debut single, which fans disputed.
He also called Malik a “d*ck,” spoke about his dislike for Malik, and claimed that he and Tomlinson hated each other during their time in One Direction, further damaging his reputation.
Despite the negative reaction, Payne has expressed regret over his past comments and has attempted to reconcile with his former bandmates. He apologized for his remarks, saying he had a “chip on my shoulder” and “took it out on everyone else,” Payne said he “loves my boys” and hopes they can forgive him in time.

In a now-deleted Instagram post after the premiere of All Of Those Voices, Payne expressed his hope that his former bandmates can put the past behind them. Payne has also made efforts to reignite his friendship with Styles after his Grammys success in February.
“I’m so sorry I was so out of my mind, and I didn’t do better for you,” Payne wrote. “I feel ashamed in those moments to not be as good of a friend as you have been to me, at least I have time now and I’m me again so will try and make amends.”
One Direction was formed in 2010 on The X Factor when Simon Cowell put them together, selling over 70 million records before splitting in 2016. While Payne’s desire for a reunion is exciting for fans, it remains uncertain if his former bandmates are willing to reconcile with him after his past remarks.
