Lauren Alaina Releases New Album ‘Sitting Pretty On Top Of The World’

American Idol runner-up Lauren Alaina released her new album today. Sitting Pretty On Top Of The World is a 15 song addition to the Country singer’s catalogue. Fans have highly been anticipating her new album since the release of “It Was Me” in late July. Alaina has been posting teasers for each track on social media leading up to today’s premiere. Lauren Alaina Releases Sitting Pretty On Top Of The World
Alaina has put her time to creative use this year. Before the end of 2021, the country star will have a new album, release a self-help book, and star in a Hallmark movie. Her latest project, Sitting Pretty On Top Of The World is a deep dive into her personal story.
“It was an emotional time, and what I usually do with my emotions is turn them into art,” Alaina explained in an interview. “With the pandemic and everything, I stopped for the first time in 10 years. I never would have had enough time to do all three of those projects in such a short time span, but because I was home consistently, I was able to reconnect with myself in a way that I hadn’t been able to for so long.”
Alaina’s successful 2017 sophomore album Road Less Traveled talks about becoming a woman. Her newly released work, is about being that woman through the transgressions of life. Listeners can hear Alaina’s authentic voice throughout the project, as she co-wrote 14 of the album’s 15 songs. Sitting Pretty On Top Of The World talks about going through heartbreak and overcoming that in hopes for a brighter future.
“I am the happy-go-lucky girl, but there is more to me than that,” Alaina shared. “I’ve been the bad guy and I’ve been with the bad guy and now, I’m getting to a place of healing. I think if there’s anything the world needs right now, it’s a little bit of healing.”
The Country Star Busy At Work
Last month, the country singer appeared on an episode of Secret Celebrity Renovation. On that series, Alaina helped to transform the Georgia home of her former cheerleading coach. She was able to give back to to one of her greatest inspiration in grand gesture. The episode is available to stream on the CBS app and Paramount +.
Soon, Alaina will kick off the Hallmark Channel’s 2021 Fall Harvest programming as the lead in the romantic comedy, Roadhouse Romance. She co-star’s alongside Tyler Hines, one of the Hallmark Channel’s favorite leading men.
Also coming this Fall it the release of Alaina’s new book. On November 2, her work Getting Good at Being You: Learning to Love Who God Made You will hit the shelves. The book offers insight into the singer’s personal struggles. Such as battling an eating disorder, grieving a loved one, and battling self-doubt. The self help book also shares tibits of the wisdom she has learned along the way to keep her grounded and confident.
