On November 23, Umansky posted an Instagram Story showing him and Richards as they are preparing their Thanksgiving meal. The clip was filmed in the former couple’s kitchen at their Encino estate in California. The Dancing With The Stars alum was all smiles while wearing an apron for a Turkey-Day buffer.
“Okay, the turkey has been cut, it has been cooked,” he said while Richards lifted the serving dish lid. “Let me see the turkey.”
In the same video, Umansky also displayed mashed potatoes, peas, cranberries, and baked cookies. Amid the festivities, Umansky then shared some words of gratitude for the happy holiday.
“I’m grateful and thankful for life,” he wrote. “I am grateful for all the love the energy. [Thanksgiving] is one my favorite holidays because it reminds us all too [sic] have gratitude.”
In an interview with Extra at Kathy Hilton’s DIRECTV Celebrates Christmas event, Richards had good words to say about their Thanksgiving. According to the reality star, it feels nice that they “get along” and “don’t argue” despite their issues.
“And then we all watched TV the next day and watched a movie together, so it’s nice to be able to have that,” she said.
The estranged couple shared their Thanksgiving dinner with their daughters, Farrah Aldjufrie, Sophia Umansky, Alexia Umansky, and Portia Umansky. Richards also noted that “a couple friends” joined them during the celebration.
She Says She’s Focused on Making Sure the Kids are Happy
In the same conversation with Extra, the RHOBH star addressed the awkwardness between her and Umansky on television. Admitting that she struggles in moving forward, Richards stated that she’s navigating the separation “one day at a time.”
“People ask me why it was so awkward, the scenes with Mo and me when the season first started. I didn’t know how to navigate through that in my personal life, let alone with cameras in my face,” she said.
According to Richards, she didn’t know to keep it cool because she doesn’t have a “good poker face.” Nonetheless, she would rather look at the bright side and form a positive mindset amid the difficult time.
“I just want to get to a place of being at peace and being able to tune out the noise and the chatter,” she said. “And right now, I’m just focusing on making sure my kids are happy and our family is still a family and happy.”
As the new year looms, Richards already has a resolution.
“I want to go into 2024 as healthy mentally and physically as I can be so that I’m strong and can be a good mom and a good friend and also be good to myself, too,” she said.
