After two years of being engaged, Emmy award-winning actress Kristin Chenoweth finally said her “I do” to musician Josh Bryant. The newly weds savored the special moment in a pink nontraditional ceremony in Dallas, Texas.

Kristin Chenoweth Ties the Knot with Josh Bryant

Chenoweth and Bryant began their weekend wedding festivities with a rehearsal dinner on Friday at Capital Grille. The next day, the two held their nuptials at a private residence alongside their 140 guests.

The couple’s dog, Thunder, served as the ring bearer. Chenoweth made her grand entrance to AC/DC’s 1990 hit “Thunderstruck.” As she was walking down the aisle, the bride wore a Pamella Roland gown with a sheer nude and pink overlay and bow detail at the back.

“I didn’t want to wear white,” she said. “Simple and elegant. I never thought I’d get married, so I went very nontraditional with the gown. I love it.”

For his part, Bryant wore a J Crew with Prada belt and shoes. The ceremony decoration featured a mix of white, ivory, creme, soft peach, blush to medium pink, and champagne tones. Such colors signify Chenoweth’s taste — something that Bryant expected from Chenoweth.

“Without having to even ask Kristin, I knew that the theme would probably be pink-oriented in some way,” Bryant said.

Indeed, the Wicked star wasn’t one to follow convention. According to her, she wanted to “look and feel like Kristin” on her special day.

“I’m going to look glamorous and all that, but my hair isn’t going to be up to heaven, even though we’ll be in Texas. It’s going to look like me,” she said.

Several of the couple’s famous friends attended the big event, including married couple David Foster and Katharine McPhee. Other guests include Kathy Najimy, Kenny Ortega, Chely Wright, Jennifer Aspen and Broadway composer Andrew Lippa.

She Thought She was “Never Going to Get Married”

It’s not a shocking news that Chenoweth wasn’t looking for a man to fall in love with. As a matter of fact, she calls herself a “self-proclaimed bachelorette.” This wasn’t until she met her now-husband.

“I was never going to get married. I even got engaged before and couldn’t do it. Until I met Josh. Then I was like, ‘Why would I ever let this guy go?’ I’m so blessed,” she said.

The pair first met when Bryant’s band Backroad Anthem performed at her niece’s wedding. Two years after, Chenoweth’s nephew got married, getting Bryant’s band booked for the reception.

Bryant and Chenoweth began dating long distance in 2018, being busy with their own tours. After the pandemic surfaced in 2020, the two found themselves living at Chenoweth’s apartment for six months.

“That bonded us,” she said. “Going through a pandemic with someone and you see that you have each other’s backs.”

Interestingly, Bryant already saw a future with her during their first “date weekend.” The musician clearly recalled how Chenoweth sat beside him instead of sitting across from him.

“When we first met, I knew there was something special. I always go back to that. When you just have that feeling when you first see somebody,” he said.
