Kelly Clarkson Tries to Understand the Winter Olympics in Funny Game
Reading Time: 2 minutes
The 2022 Winter Olympics are now underway in Beijing, but don’t ask Kelly Clarkson to give you the details. In a funny video from her talk show, The Voice coach tries to guess which sports are real and fake. And let’s just say she’s not exactly an expert.
Kelly Clarkson Guesses Which Olympic Sports Are Real
The video kicked off with Clarkson being asked who’s hosting this year’s games. Clarkson replied, “Snoop Dogg?” So that should give you an idea of just how knowledgeable she is about the Olympics.
The first sport Clarkson had to identify as a real winter sport or not was skeleton. She guessed that it wasn’t real, but she was wrong. Skeleton is a sliding sport in which an athlete lies face down and rides a bobsled down a frozen track. Clarkson said she recognized the sport but didn’t know its name.
Icicle javelin, however, is not a real Olympic sport, which Clarkson correctly guessed. She commented that it sounds like something out of the movie Frozen. “But wouldn’t it be fun?” Clarkson said after finding out the answer.

Clarkson Cracks Up Over Unusual Winter Sports
Some of the sports mentioned in the game gave Clarkson a good laugh. One of them was skijoring, which only appeared during the 1928 Olympics. It involved a person on skis being pulled behind a galloping horse.
“I feel like this is what people on ranches do when they get just hammered,” Clarkson said. “And they’re like, ‘I have this really great idea. I wanna pull you behind the horse.'”
Clarkson also cracked up when she saw a photo of the former Olympic sport ski ballet. She said she would be picturing the “joyful” athlete in the photo all day.
You can watch the opening ceremony of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics Friday night at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.
