Kelly Clarkson Performs at Rockefeller Christmas Tree Lighting
Clarkson announced her hosting gig on her talk show last month, saying, “I’m very excited. I love Christmas so much. It’s so magical. My whole family is gonna be here, and we are very excited about Christmas in New York.”
During Wednesday’s event, Clarkson took the stage to perform her holiday song “Santa Can’t You Hear Me.” The track appears on Clarkson’s 2021 album When Christmas Comes Around… and was originally a duet with Ariana Grande.
Clarkson donned a white fur-trimmed coat for the performance, accessorized with a festive red lip and hoop earrings. She was accompanied by a band and several backup singers. Unsurprisingly, she sounded amazing as she belted out the lyrics.

Clarkson wasn’t the only star to take the stage at Wednesday’s tree lighting ceremony. The event also featured performances from Cher, Barry Manilow, Keke Palmer, Liz Gillies and Seth MacFarlane, Darlene Love, and of course The Rockettes.
Katharine McPhee and her husband David Foster also took the stage during the event to perform “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” and “Santa Baby.” The couple recently released the album Christmas Songs, an expanded version of their EP from last year.
According to NBC, the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree will be lighted daily from 5 a.m. to midnight until January 13. The only exceptions are Christmas Day, when it will remain on for 24 hours, and New Year’s Eve, when it will be on from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.
