Keke Palmer is renowned not only for her impressive skills in the entertainment industry but also for her unapologetic authenticity. In a recent episode of her podcast series, Baby, This Is Keke Palmer, she candidly shared her thoughts on body standards, fitness, and the importance of staying true to oneself.

Keke Palmer Doesn’t Let Unrealistic Body Standards Affect Her

During the podcast conversation with celebrity trainer Corey Calliet, Palmer emphasized that maintaining her health and body was a part of her career choice. While acknowledging that she has the privilege of affording a trainer and other resources, she wanted to make it clear that she does not intend to set unrealistic standards for her fans.

Palmer firmly believes that everyone’s journey is their own, and she encourages her fans to pursue their wellness in a way that suits them best. She urges them not to compare themselves to celebrities or feel pressured to live up to the standards set by Hollywood.

“It is expensive, but I am investing in my career because it is my career to look good,” Palmer said.

After welcoming her first child, Leodis “Leo” Andrellton, with her boyfriend Darius Jackson, Palmer experienced a shift in her focus and approach to fitness. She acknowledged that the post-pregnancy period brought new challenges, and she had to adjust her routine accordingly.

Instead of succumbing to societal pressure, she turned her fear of extra weight into a source of strength, using it to fuel her motivation for weight training and workouts.

Keke Palmer Embraces Motherhood

Palmer opened up about her journey into motherhood and how it has impacted her outlook on body image and fitness. She stressed the importance of doing what feels right for each individual, and she encouraged new moms not to rush the process.

“It’s interesting, after the baby to see all the extra stuff I have to work with, and how much my fear of having extra weight actually became a strength as it pertained to weight training and working out.” Palmer said.

Palmer understands the pressure society places on celebrities to “snap back” quickly after giving birth but insists that it’s a part of their job to look the part. She advocates for understanding and support rather than judgment.
