Keith Urban Tells Gabby Barrett About Her ACM Win — See Her Reaction
Gabby Barrett got some exciting news this week, delivered by a fellow country superstar. Former American Idol judge Keith Urban surprises Barrett by announcing she won an ACM Award.
Barrett was named ACM New Female Artist of the Year at the ceremony, which will be hosted by Urban later this month. She posted a video of her reaction to the news on her social media pages Thursday.

In the clip, Barrett opens a card containing a video message from country star Urban.
“Gabby, it’s Keith Urban here, with some mighty fine news,” he said.
“I’m here to let you know that, Gabby Barrett, you are the winner of the ACM Best New Female Artist of the Year,” Urban said. Barrett starts screaming before he even finishes sharing the news.
“Congratulations, Gabby. Very, very happy for you,” Urban said. “And you get to play in the ACMs as well, so I will see you there.”
Barrett is adorably surprised even after watching the video.
“Now I know why you told me to put on my makeup and get dressed,” the 21-year-old said, kicking up her leg in excitement and showing off her sweatpants.
“Thank you so much! I love everybody!”
When Are The ACM Awards?
“God is so good and I am so thankful and blessed to be part of this country music community,” Barrett wrote on social media to accompany her reaction video.
The former American Idol star added that she’ll be performing at the ACM Awards when they air on Sunday, April 18, on CBS.
Barrett is also nominated for Single of the Year for her song “I Hope.”
Her award nominations aren’t the only exciting thing to happen to Barrett in the past few months. In January, she gave birth to her first child, Baylah May Foehner, with husband and fellow Idol alum Cade Foehner.
