Katycats Conquer Twitter with ‘Katy Perry is Coming’

Katy Perry’s fans have led the charge in getting “KATY PERRY IS COMING” to trend worldwide on Twitter. The hashtag now has over 85,000 tweets from excited Katycats who think the singer will be releasing a new song very soon.
Fans Anticipate Katy Perry’s Latest Song Release
The new song “Electric” is part of a collaboration with Pokémon to celebrate its 25th anniversary. Perry is part of the P25 Music collaboration album with Universal Music Group along with other major acts including J Balvin, Post Malone, and more. Fans can now pre-save the album on Spotify.
“Pokémon has been a constant in my life from playing the original video games on my Game Boy to trading Pokémon TCG cards at lunch, to the adventures of catching Pokémon on the street with Pokémon GO,” the American Idol judge said in a statement.

“It is an honor to be chosen to help celebrate a franchise that has given me so much joy in the last 25 years, and to be able to watch it evolve in the ways it’s provided that kind of electric joy for the kids in my life and around the world,” she added.
Perry previously visited the Pokémon Café in Japan while she was on tour. On Jan. 13, Pokémon released a teaser on YouTube to hint at this big musical collaboration. The video features several appearances of iconic Pokémon characters.
The most exciting part of all is Perry’s name in lights at the end of the video. Perry can be heard singing the word “electric” at the end of the video, leaving fans wanting more.
Is the Song Coming Out Soon?
Perry has not yet made an announcement about when she is releasing the song. Pokémon has been posting content non-stop on social media about their 25th anniversary leading many to believe the song will be out soon. Fans took to Twitter yesterday to show their love for Perry and attempt to get some answers out of her.
Others tweeted Perry to ask if the rumors were true.
Some are preparing to ask Perry about “Electric” during her upcoming Instagram Live.
Perry is doing an Instagram Live today with Miranda Kerr, ex-wife of Perry’s fiancé, Orlando Bloom. The pair have maintained a close friendship over the years. Bloom and Kerr share 10-year-old son, Flynn. Perry and Bloom welcomed a baby girl, Daisy Dove in August.
Perry released her incredible sixth studio album Smile after Daisy’s birth. The hard-working mom is currently a judge on Season 19 of American Idol.
