American Idol judge Katy Perry recently shared a video on Instagram showing the process of getting her latest tattoo — a mushroom to commemorate her Las Vegas residency. Over 50 members of her crew also got matching ink.
Katy Perry Gets Tattoo Commemorating Vegas Residency
As Perry explains in the video, she has a tradition where she brings a tattoo artist out to give matching tattoos to her and her crew after every tour. The design chosen to commemorate her Play residency in Las Vegas is a tiny red mushroom.
Perry got her tattoo on her left ring finger. She realized the significance of this placement too late, as that is where she wears her engagement ring from her fiancé Orlando Bloom. Perry joked of the oversight, “Sorry, Orlando.”
“I love it so much,” Perry said of the tattoo when it was finished. “It looks like a sticker. Daisy’s gonna want one.”
According to the video’s caption, 51 members of Perry’s tour crew also got the tattoo. The clip features a quick slideshow of their matching ink. Some people got it with color, and some without.

Perry’s Residency Ends Next Month
Perry kicked off her Play residency at The Theater at Resorts World Las Vegas in December 2021. The pop star has extended the residency several times since then, but it’s set to officially come to an end next month.
The singer performed a show on Wednesday night, and she now has just six more shows left. The final night of the residency will be on Saturday, November 4. Before that, Perry will be performing a show on Halloween.
In her Instagram post about her tattoo, Perry shared that everyone attending her Halloween show will receive a temporary tattoo to match her permanent one, which was designed by tattoo artist Liz Kim.
