Pop star Katy Perry’s romance with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau could be beneficial for the both of them, if recent gossip is to be believed. A new report claims that Perry is looking to “cash in” on their romance.
Does Katy Perry Want to ‘Cash In’ on Justin Trudeau Romance?
Katy Perry and her ex-fiancé Orlando Bloom confirmed their split in July of last year. Not long after that, Perry was spotted with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The couple has since confirmed their relationship, going Instagram official in December.
According to a new report from Radar Online, the couple is apparently interested in going into business together or collaborating publicly. A source said, “The public is fascinated by them, so it’s a no-brainer for them to cash in on that interest – whether that’s by producing a documentary or launching a product together.”
The source went on to share that Trudeau is different from Bloom, in that he “doesn’t stick his nose up at her ideas and call them tacky, the way Orlando would.” They added that Trudeau is “a creative person” like Perry.
“Justin wants to dip his toe into the whole Hollywood thing, but he’s a total newbie and acknowledges Katy will have to drive the ship with any project they team up on,” the source explained, adding that Perry is feeling “ambitious again” and that the two “want to be a power couple.”

Is Trudeau Using Perry for Fame?
This latest report about Perry and Trudeau comes after a November story claiming that friends of the pop star are concerned about the former politician possibly using their relationship to boost his own fame.
“People have been fascinated with Katy for years, and they’re always going to be curious about what she does next,” a source told Star. “Not so with Justin. He’s a nepo baby who flamed out in his political career and doesn’t have much of a path forward without his celebrity status.”
The source went on to say that Trudeau’s romance with Perry “has made him more famous, in a positive way, and he doesn’t want this trend to stop,” adding, “Justin needs this relationship way more than Katy does and everybody around her knows that.”
