Former American Idol judge Katy Perry has finally announced new music, to be released in July. The new song, titled “Woman’s World,” will also have a music video. Perry teased the track on social media, and fans aren’t exactly impressed.

Katy Perry Announces New Song ‘Woman’s World’
On Monday, Perry announced on social media that her new song “Woman’s World” will be released on July 11, with a music video on July 12. Fans can pre-save and pre-order the track on Perry’s website. As the singer told fans, “GET READY TO POP OFF.”
Perry’s announcement included an image to promote the song, in which she can be seen wearing metallic pants, paired with a skimpy white bra. The image has a sci-fi quality, as Perry stands on a swirling, glowing floor with her hands behind her head.
The singer has been teasing new music for a while now. When she announced her departure from American Idol earlier this year, Perry shared that she had “some things planned for this year.” Then earlier this month, she held a listening party for fans and media.

Fans Aren’t Impressed by the New Track
In addition to announcing the song’s release date, Perry also teased a snippet of the track for fans on social media. She shared a video of herself that appears to have been taken on the set of the song’s music video.
Perry, dressed in the same outfit featured in the single art, lip-syncs to part of the song, which features the lyrics, “Sexy, confident / So intelligent / She is heaven-sent / So soft, so strong.” While some fans in the comments were excited, others shared their criticism.
One commenter wondered if the song’s lyrics were AI-generated, while another simply told the singer, “we’ll be waiting for the next one.” Someone else wrote, “Katy this song ain’t it I’m so sorry.” Others were open to hearing the rest of the track before making a judgment.
