Jordin Sparks Performs Wicked Song Cover on TikTok
“Okay, let’s attempt this,” Sparks said to start the video, before launching into the song. She belted out the lyrics, showing off the soaring voice that made her the youngest American Idol winner ever.
As Sparks wrote in the post’s caption, “I’m Defying Gravity on these numbers—Thank you for 1 MILLION! How excited are you for Wicked The Movie!!?” She added in the comments, “*Note to self* warm up first!! Lordtttt.”
Even without a warm-up, fans thought Sparks sounded amazing on the song. One commenter wrote, “PAINT HER GREEN RIGHT NOW,” referring to the role of Elphaba in Wicked. Fellow singer Tori Kelly even shared her thoughts, writing, “wow YES.”
One commenter suggested that Kelly should take on the part of Glinda, while others simply wanted her to deliver a similar performance on her own account.

Sparks Is No Stranger to Broadway
Sparks’ new TikTok might have you thinking she should be on Broadway. What you might not know is that she already was. The singer made her Broadway debut as Nina Rosario in the musical In the Heights back in 2010.
Then in 2019, she appeared in the lead role of Jenna in the musical Waitress. Fans seem to think it’s time for Sparks to get back on the stage in a new role. As one commenter wrote in response to her Wicked cover, “Broadway is still for you.”
