Jordin Sparks Joins the Cast of ‘DWTS’ Season 31

Jordin Sparks is among the celebrities whose involvement in Dancing with the Stars Season 31 has been teased ahead of the official announcement. They’re both former talent show winners, on American Idol and The Masked Singer, respectively.
Jordin Sparks Leaked as DWTS Season 31 Cast Member
Insider Kristyn Burtt recently revealed several celebrities who will compete on Season 31 of DWTS in a post on her website. That includes Sparks, who will reportedly be partnered with pro dancer Brandon Armstrong.
Sparks is the youngest winner in American Idol history, having won Season 6 of the show at just 17 years old. Last year, she appeared on The Masked Dancer as Exotic Bird, reuniting with Idol judge Paula Abdul, who sat on the panel.
In 2019, Sparks said she was “terrified” about ever competing on DWTS, telling Us Weekly, “I can memorize a song no problem, but steps, my… Ooh. I’m scared. I’m scared just talking about this conversation. But maybe that’s why I should do it — because it scares me.”
Now that Sparks has some experience dancing on television, maybe she’s feeling more confident competing in the ballroom. Could she bring Brandon Armstrong his first win on the show?

Wayne Brady Will Also Reportedly Compete
Another name shared by Burtt in association with Season 31 is Wayne Brady. The comedian will reportedly be partnered with pro dancer Witney Carson. Burtt predicted that they’re “on the fast track to win the competition.”
In addition to comedy, Brady is also a talented theater performer. He’s appeared in Broadway productions of musicals such as Chicago and Kinky Boots. In the latter production, he even danced in high heels. Brady also won Season 2 of The Masked Singer as Fox.
Other partnerships teased by Burtt included TikTok star Charli D’Amelio with Val Chmerkovskiy, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son Joseph Baena with Daniella Karagach, and actor Daniel Durant with Britt Stewart. D’Amelio’s mother Heidi will also reportedly compete, although her partner is unknown at this time.
DWTS Season 31 premieres September 19 on Disney+. The cast for this season is scheduled to be officially announced September 8 on Good Morning America.
