Dancing with the Stars runner-up JoJo Siwa is starring in an upcoming horror-thriller movie from the writer of Saw 3D. The new movie is called All My Friends Are Dead, and it will co-star actress Jade Pettyjohn.

JoJo Siwa to Star in Upcoming New Horror Movie

Deadline reported the news on Monday, sharing that All My Friends Are Dead will be directed by Saw 3D writer Marcus Dunstan. The film is reportedly being shopped at the European Film Market, with deals locked in Germany and Benelux, as well as the Middle East.

The movie is reportedly still casting and will begin filming in Canada this spring. The screenplay is by writers Josh Sims and Jessica Sarah Flaum. It tells the story of a group of college students who rent an Airbnb for a music festival. Members of the group are murdered in deaths corresponding to the seven deadly sins.

Siwa said in a statemen that she’s “so grateful for the opportunity” to appear in the film, adding, “This is a project that is so different from anything I’ve done previously; however, I absolutely love horror movies and I can’t wait to start production! I’m also excited to work with Jade again. We worked together when we were younger and can’t wait to create this movie together.”

Both Siwa and Pettyjohn appeared in Nickelodeon’s Sizzling Summer Camp Special in 2017. Since then, Pettyjohn has gone on to star in the miniseries Little Fires Everywhere alongside Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington.

Has Siwa Acted Much Before?

Siwa got her start on the reality show Dance Moms and is best known for her dancing and social media posts. However, she also has some acting experience under her belt. She’s starred in several Nickelodeon specials over the years, as well as the TV movie Blurt.

She also guest starred on the TV series School of Rock and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. Siwa even did two voices in The Angry Birds Movie 2 and starred as herself in the Paramount+ original movie The J Team.

This new movie definitely sounds like a departure from the family-friendly content Siwa has done in the past. Are you excited to see All My Friends Are Dead? Let us know in the comments below.
