R&B superstar John Legend has recently revealed the origin of the name of his rainbow baby with Chrissy Teigen, Esti Maxine. The singer also happily shared the reaction of his children Luna and Miles amid arrival of their newborn.
John Legend Shares How Children Luna, Miles React to Baby Esti’s Arrival
The Jennifer Hudson Show’s 100th episode featured none other than John Legend, who willingly shared the new milestone of his family. Exclusively, the singer proudly revealed the origin of Baby Esti’s name.
“My great grandmother was named Ester and my grandmother’s middle name was Maxine,” he said. “We incorporated two of my ancestors into her name.”
According to the “All of Me” hitmaker, their family was very excited to welcome Esti at home. He then admitted that he was initially “worried” that Esti’s older siblings might be jealous against her. Nonetheless, his doubts disappeared as Luna and Miles happily welcomed the newest addition.
“They’ve exceeded our expectations of how loving and excited they are,” he said. “They’re just like, truly thrilled to be older siblings now.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Legend recounted the challenges that he and Teigen had to experience to conceive again. The couple has indeed been public about their pregnancy loss, and Legend thinks that this helps people feel better about their own painful journey.
The EGOT Winners Perform Together
The same episode has also treated fans with two EGOT winners singing a duet. As Legend took the piano to perform with Jennifer Hudson, he started tapping the keys for Simon & Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”
“Their voices simultaneously give goosebumps!” one fan wrote in the comments.
Truly, their rendition to “Bridge Over Troubled Water” is nothing less than fascinating. Legend’s soulful voice matched with Hudson’s incredible vocals is thus a sonically pleasing performance.
Before their duet, the musician gave her a bouquet containing 100 flowers to join her celebration. The “Spotlight” singer has subsequently expressed her appreciation for the sweet gesture.
