After years of keeping it as an awkward secret, Joe Jonas revealed that he once pooped himself on stage. The pop rock artist explained that the embarrassing incident was worsened by the fact that he opted to wear white pants that day.
Joe Jonas Recalls Soiling His White Pants During Tour
In his recent appearance on Will & Woody radio show, the DNCE star was asked to tell “a story you have never told anyone.” Jonas then proceeded to detail the shaming incident which happened “about four years ago.”
“Let’s just say it was a bad day to choose to wear white clothing,” he said. “You think it might be a little toot, it might’ve been a little something else, a little something extra. So it was like a mid-wardrobe s*** change during the set.”
The “Cake By The Ocean” singer said that he was fortunately saved by an immediate costume change. Amid the interesting situation, Jonas could only hope that no one noticed the wardrobe mishap.Â
“If you go in the archives, there is a wardrobe change halfway through the show, and it was maybe a little bit like, ‘Oh that was an interesting choice to change clothes that quickly,” he said.
The Jonas Brothers member then cleared up that it was only a “light” poop. Subsequently, he added that there’s likely a video footage of him wearing the white pants then suddenly putting on a different ensemble.
He Believes Many Artists Experienced the Same Situation
At the time, the “Waffle House” singer was intensely anxious and worried about what happened. Later, he realized that the wardrobe incident was nothing short of ordinary.Â
“The whole time, I thought this is definitely — somebody is going to be able to see this and know what is happening, but it was all in my head,” Jonas said. “It wasn’t as big of a deal as I thought. But such is life.”
Jonas went on and stated that his poop accident was not an isolated case. Rather, he believes that such mishap inducted him to a secret club of celebrities of similar embarrassing experience.
“It has happened to many artists. I feel like I’ve paid my dues, and I feel like I’m a part of some secret club now,” he said.
True enough, Jonas wasn’t the lone celebrity under that criteria. Back in 2015, Ed Sheeran admitted to Nova FM that he once “misjudged a fart on stage, which ended up being a shart.” Furthermore, Phoebe Bridgers confessed that her wardrobe crack-up came as a result of food poisoning.Â
