Sofia Vergara’s Golden Buzzer Jimmie Herrod is sharing the secret to his incredible voice. The America’s Got Talent star shared that he woke up at 6 a.m. to prepare for his first live show performance on Tuesday night. He sang a few lines of a classic song in an Instagram post to tease his big moment.

Jimmie posted a video singing a song in the bathroom with a towel over his face. Even through the towel muffling, the lyrics of Hank Williams’ “Cold, Cold Heart” are as clear as day. Jimmie was one of the 12 performers announced in a since-deleted Instagram post for the very first episode of AGT Quarterfinals.
“Cause you’ve got a big rehearsal today for an even bigger show tomorrow *cough cough* Can you tell what song the towel is muffling? See what I’m singing tomorrow on @agt on @nbc at 8/7c,” Jimmie wrote on Instagram.
The towel is likely used to prevent his voice from echoing so early in the morning. Truthfully, to be woken up by Jimmie’s voice at 6 a.m. wouldn’t be such a bad thing. He first proved Simon Cowell wrong with his rendition of “Tomorrow” from Annie during his audition. The seasoned singer has been performing with the group Pink Martini for the past few years.
“I would love to be woken up at 6am hearing you warm up,” one fan wrote in the comments.
On July 3, Jimmie posted a cover of “Evergreen” by Barbra Streisand and teased that: “maybe you’ll hear me sing it on @agt.” Jimmie is also a huge fan of Mariah Carey, so do not rule out hearing him perform one of her songs. He obviously can’t give away all of the details about his first live show performance. His performance will definitely knock our socks off no matter what.
You can catch Jimmie’s live AGT performance on Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
