Jennifer Lopez to Receive Icon Award at iHeartRadio Music Awards
Former World of Dance judge Jennifer Lopez is set to receive the Icon Award at this year’s iHeartRadio Music Awards, which will be hosted by LL Cool J. The show will air live from Los Angeles on March 22.
Jennifer Lopez to Receive iHeartRadio Icon Award
According to a press release, the iHeartRadio Icon Award honors “impact on pop culture, longevity and continued relevance as a touring and radio force with a loyal fan base worldwide.” This year, that honor goes to Jennifer Lopez.
Last year’s recipient of the Icon Award was Elton John. Previously, Bon Jovi accepted the award in 2018.
Lopez has had quite the career, including eight studio albums and dozens of movie roles — most notably as the singer Selena in the 1997 biopic of the same name. Most recently, Lopez starred in the romantic comedy Marry Me and performed on the film’s soundtrack.
Talent Show Stars Are Nominated This Year
Nominations for this year’s iHeartRadio Music Awards were announced in January. Several talent show stars, from shows such as The Voice and American Idol, are nominated at this year’s event.
The Voice coach Ariana Grande is nominated for Song of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, and Best Fan Army. Former coach Adam Levine is nominated with his band Maroon 5 for Best Duo/Group of the Year, as well as Favorite Tour Photographer for Travis Schneider.
Former American Idol winner Carrie Underwood is nominated with Jason Aldean for Best Collaboration and Country Song of the Year for their track “If I Didn’t Love You.” They’re up against former contestant Gabby Barrett for her song “The Good Ones.” Judge Luke Bryan is also nominated for Country Artist of the Year.
The show’s host, LL Cool J, will also perform during the event. The awards will air on FOX March 22 at 8 p.m. ET, broadcast live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Tickets for the event are available now.
