James Corden’s Final Show Featured a Funny ‘The Masked Singer’ Twist

Thursday night marked James Corden’s final episode of The Late Late Show. The farewell night featured a funny skit starring Corden’s fellow late-night hosts that ended with a hilarious twist themed to The Masked Singer.
James Corden Leaves Late Night for The Masked Singer
Thursday night’s skit showed Corden having a nightmare about his fellow late-night hosts visiting his bedroom to talk about his departure from The Late Late Show. Those hosts included Seth Meyers, Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, and even David Letterman.
“Don’t get any big ideas. Stick to corporate gigs, podcasts, maybe The Masked Singer,” Kimmel tells Corden about his life after late-night.
The skit ends with Corden waking up and realizing it was all just a dream, but it’s not quite over. The clip then cuts to six months later, as two contestants on The Masked Singer are about to be unmasked — a banana and a piece of broccoli.
As the crowd chants, both contestants remove their masks to reveal… James Corden and former The Daily Show host Trevor Noah. The ultimate twist would be if these two are actually unmasked during Season 10 later this year.

Corden’s Final Guests Were Harry Styles, Will Ferrell
During Thursday’s show, Corden welcomed guests Harry Styles and Will Ferrell to the couch. Ferrell showed up with a sledgehammer and proceeded to smash Corden’s desk to pieces. Then Styles showed off the “Late Late” tattoo he had done on the show years ago.
Apparently, Ferrell enjoyed the segment “Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts” so much that he wanted to play it one last time. So Corden had a mini version set up for them. Ferrell answered honestly that his favorite late-night host is Seth Meyers, but he still chose to have a taste of bug trifle.
Then it was Styles’ turn to answer or take a bite. The question was, “Yes or no, will there be a One Direction reunion?” Styles said he “would never say never to that.” Unlike Ferrell, he chose not to eat the salmon, clam juice, and wasabi smoothie.
