Filipino singer Jake Zyrus recently announced that he’ll be performing on the Stonewall stage during the San Diego Pride Festival. Zyrus has long been an advocate of mental health and LGBTQIA+ rights awareness.

Jake Zyrus Announces Participation in San Diego Pride Festival

Weeks after he declared a social media detox, Zyrus came back to the digital platform and announced his colorful news. He is among the queer artists who will celebrate with the gays and allies in San Diego’s largest two-day event.

“Hey beautiful #Pride Family! We’ll see you on July 15th!” he wrote. “Get ready to celebrate, affirm our resilience, and most importantly, THRIVE with us on [July 15TH, 4-4:45PM, STONEWALL STAGE]!”

The festival is happening on July 15 and 16 at the Balboa Park. Some artists in the lineup include Princess Nokia, Saucy Santana, Pussy Riot, Moore Kismet, Whatever Mike, The Illustrious Blacks, Jimbo, Darienne Lake, Naysha Lopez, and several others.

Zyrus’ team informed his supporters of his participation in the festival earlier this June. On Instagram, the post encouraged fans to affirm resilience and thrive with the queer community this rainbow month.

“Let’s raise awareness for trans visibility, honor the LGBTQ+ community’s strength and promote love and acceptance!” the caption reads.

David Archuleta Also Among Artists to Grace the Event

Aside from Zyrus, David Archuleta will also be appearing on stage to perform for the rainbow crowd. Archuleta is known for his compassionate LGBTQ advocacy in religious spaces. He came out as part of the LGBTQIA+ community in 2021.

“We know music and performance are potent forces for change,” San Diego Pride newsletter reads. “LGBTQ arts and culture have always played a pivotal role in our defiance. They tell our stories, illustrate our struggles, tout our triumphs, and most importantly, showcase the beauty of our identities.”

Aside from vocal performances, San Diego Pride is also highlighting interactive exhibits, cultural presentations, and community resources.

There’s nothing to celebrate in this gay pride mess. God says you don’t do this and what God says stands. They need help and hope that at least some will seek help. God loves you and doesn’t want any of His children to end up in hell for eternity. So, pray to God they He will help you get away from this sorta… Read more »
