It’s no secret that Howie Mandel is being painted as a total grouch on this season of AGT. But one act from his past returned to confront him for being a grouch back then too. Fans of the show have never had so much second-hand embarrassment for a judge before.
Michael and Angelina Novikov’s Mom Confronts Howie Mandel For Past Harsh Comments
Dancers Michael and Angelina Novikov are only 8 and 6 years old but pack a big punch when it comes to their dance act. They brought their mom Alla along to support them. She previously competed on the show with their older brother Daniel in Season 11. Alla has some unfinished business with Mandel.
Alla and Daniel made it to the live shows. Mandel gave them the red buzzer as they were performing in 2016 on stage. Alla walked out onto the stage to join her children this time around. Simon Cowell instigated a whole confrontation moment where Alla called out Mandel for being totally ruthless to her in the past.
Alla called Mandel “really really rude.” She mentioned that getting a red buzzer during the live shows was especially hard on both her and her son. Michael and Angelina were here to prove him wrong. Their act was so awesome. It was very high-energy and was a huge way to show Mandel not to underestimate dancers.
Mandel gave the act a standing ovation. He wanted to show them that he appreciated their talents and is obviously sorry for what he did in the past. Alla was invited back out onto the stage when it came time for the judges to vote. It was all smiles this time around when the judges delivered their critiques. Michael and Angelina were voted through to the next round of the competition.
As they were walking off the stage, Cowell hit Mandel’s red buzzer to make him look evil. The editing this season is certainly not in Mandel’s favor. He just seems more and more like the new Cowell with each episode that airs. What will get Mandel into trouble next?
