America’s Got Talent judge Howie Mandel made quite the promise during the Season 21 finale this week, telling magic act Hundred Fingers that he’ll produce a Las Vegas show for them. He doubled down on the vow after the group was eliminated.
Howie Mandel Promises AGT Act a Vegas Show
AGT judge Howie Mandel pressed the Golden Buzzer for Korean magic group Hundred Fingers not once but twice this season — during the auditions and again during the Quarterfinals. He further emphasized his love for the act during Tuesday’s finale performance episode.
“That is the best magic show I’ve ever seen. I feel like your proud American father,” Mandel told the group. “If you don’t win this whole thing, if America doesn’t vote for you, you need to have your own room in Vegas. And if nobody offers you it, I’m saying it right now, I’d like to put up my own money and produce your Vegas show.”
During Wednesday’s results show, Hundred Fingers finished the competition in third place, behind magician Geno Ploeger and winning guitarist Nene Royal. After the group was eliminated, Mandel reiterated his promise.
“You are gonna be in Vegas,” Mandel said. “I am gonna produce you. I’m gonna pay for it.”
On Tuesday night, judge Mel B praised Hundred Fingers for telling a story with their performance, although she admitted that she had “one criticism.” Mandel told the group, “Don’t listen to this part.”
“There was a few things that weren’t in sync, and you’ll see that when you watch it back,” Mel said, prompting Mandel to reach over and push the microphone away from her. When she picked it up and tried to speak again, he attempted to grab it out of her hand.
Later in the show, Mel got back at Mandel by telling Nene Royal that if she didn’t win the show, she would “sell Howie’s new house.” She didn’t have to do that, though, because Nene did indeed win.
