How the Dispute Between Disney, Spectrum Might Affect ‘DWTS’ Fans

Some Dancing with the Stars could have trouble watching the new season this fall due to a dispute between Disney and Spectrum cable’s parent company Charter Communications. Charter has blacked out Disney-owned channels to Spectrum customers, including ABC.
Disney, Spectrum Dispute Could Affect DWTS Fans
According to a blog post on the Walt Disney Company website, Charter declined Disney’s offer to extend negotiations. Disney reports that 71 percent of Charter subscribers use Disney’s networks during an average month.
If the blackout of Disney-owned channels to Spectrum users continues, some DWTS fans could be left without a way to watch the new season, which is expected to premiere later this month. This season will be available to watch on both ABC and Disney+.
Disney is now promoting its Hulu + Live TV plan as an option for customers who wish to switch from Spectrum and access Disney-owned channels such as ABC and ESPN. In fact, the official DWTS Twitter account even posted about Hulu + Live TV on Monday night.
In the company’s blog post, Disney also points out that ABC stations are always available over the air to consumers at no cost.

When Is Season 32 Premiering?
Season 32 of Dancing with the Stars is expected to premiere sometime in September, although an official date has yet to be announced. Earlier this year, ABC announced that the show would once again air on Monday nights at 8/7c.
However, the premiere might not be on a Monday. Insider Kristyn Burtt recently shared that the first episode of Season 32 will allegedly air on Tuesday, September 26. This Tuesday premiere is apparently due to scheduling conflicts with Monday Night Football.
The full cast for Season 32 will reportedly be announced on Good Morning America on Wednesday, September 13. Hopefully the show will also share the premiere date during that announcement.
