Heidi Klum Hits Golden Buzzer for Young AGT Singer

The final performer of the night was 9-year-old Pranysqa Mishra from Tampa, Florida. She shared that her favorite artists of all time are Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, and Tina Turner. Those are some big shoes to fill, and Pranysqa was up to the challenge.

The young singer took on a cover of “River Deep Mountain High” by Tina Turner for her audition. Pranysqa blew the roof off as she belted out the lyrics, leaving the judges stunned. Heidi Klum said she “did not expect that.”

She added that she didn’t want to hear what the other judges had to say, so she decided to hit the Golden Buzzer for Pranysqa. She ran on stage to give her a hug as the confetti rained down on the stage. Simon Cowell commented that he “didn’t see that coming.”

Pranysqa had shared before her performance that she would call her grandma afterward, since she had dreamed of seeing her granddaughter on a big stage like AGT. Klum joined the family on an emotional FaceTime call backstage.

What Other Acts Impressed the Judges?

Pranysqa wasn’t the only performer to wow the judges during Tuesday night’s new episode of AGT. They were also impressed by aerial couple Sebastian & Sonia, who ran into a bit of a problem when they bounced off Sofia Vergara’s large X hanging over the stage.

However, that didn’t stop the judges from praising their talent. Vergara called their act sexy, while Howie Mandel said it was “the most spectacular double aerial act I have ever seen.” All four judges voted “yes” to sending the pair through.

The judges were also wowed by kids’ shadow theater group Attraction Juniors, who worked on their audition for six months before they took the stage. They were also impressed by Menudo, a new version of the iconic boy band. Cowell stopped their audition part of the way through, but they went on to earn three “yes” votes to move on.
