Gwen Stefani wore three different outfits while performing at this week’s Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting, but not everyone watching was a fan of the looks. Some viewers complained that her outfits were “inappropriate” for a family program.
Gwen Stefani’s Tree Lighting Outfits Receive Criticism
Stefani’s outfits during the tree lighting included a short, sparkly white dress, a voluminous pink dress with a high-low hemline, and another short dress in a shimmery green fabric. The 56-year-old performed her holiday songs “Shake the Snow Globe,” “Hot Cocoa,” and “You Make It Feel Like Christmas.”
“Gwen Stefani is wearing the most inappropriate outfit for a family show!!! Disgusting how short her dress is. Shame on you NBC!” wrote one X (formerly Twitter) user in response to a clip of Stefani in her white dress.
Another X user wrote, “Can Gwen Stefani have a shorter dress? You can see her c**ch.” Someone else on social media reportedly wrote of Stefani’s fashion choices, “I like Gwen, but she needs someone to help her dress more classy.” Another user wrote, “I thought she forgot her pants… She a mom she’s disgusting!”
Comments about Stefani’s appearance extended to Instagram, where one person wrote, “A 56 year old singing music for a 16 year olds, lip syncing and her gallon of makeup and facelifts. Pass the torch.”

“I enjoyed it,” wrote someone else. “She wore as much, if not more, than most stars of any age. I mean, she covered more than most prom and hoco dresses I see on young girls. She’s covering more than Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter.”
