Ali Caldwell is one of the few talent show contestants who was able to meet the standard on different competition shows. It seems as though there are many contestants who make it on different shows such as America’s Got Talent and The Voice. Truth is, producers set different standards that may be hard for contestants to meet. The Woodbridge, Nj, native’s talent has set her apart. Ali proved that with her appearance on The Four: Battle for Stardom.

Ali’s Early Success

Ali began singing at a young age. After she graduated high school Ali helped form the group Xhale. The R&B trio once opened for the group Boyz II Men on tour and performed for legendary singer Patti Labelle during a tribute concert.

Ali Was a Backup Singer for Christina Aguilera

Before taking on reality TV competition shows Ali toured with pop icon Christina Aguilera. The singer credits Aguilera with helping her develop her voice and musical craft. The singer also toured a lot on her own before taking on singing competitions. Ali has headlined shows across Europe with a jazz performer named Oleg.

Ali’s ‘Heart of Ballads’

The singer was determined to make her music dreams a reality. In 2015 Ali released her first EP Heart of Ballads. The five track project showcased Ali’s soulful voice over heavy 808 beats. The singer pushed the project through with her own music imprint, 2MaroMedia Inc. Heart of Ballads represents a journey of love, passion, and heartbreak for the singer.

‘The Voice’

Working with former Voice coach Aguilera on tour must have influenced Ali to try and win a singing competition on one of the biggest stages in the world. In 2016 Ali was the second contestant to receive a four chair turn during her Blind Audition. The singer chose to join Team Miley on Season 11. Ali’s powerful voice was a hit and she never found herself in the bottom of the competition. The singer made it to the Top 8. Although she did not take home the championship, Ali was the highest placing contestant for coach Miley Cyrus’s first season.

Ali on ‘The Four’

Two years after her The Voice appearance Ali competed on Season 2 of The Four. The singer brought the drama when she performed Chaka Khan’s “Tell Me Something Good.” All three judges were impressed with Ali’s performance and allowed her to challenge one of The Four. Ali replaced Whitney Reign after they went head-to-head. The two divas feud continued when Whitney reclaimed her chair from Ali during the Comeback Round.

Debut Album

The Voice alum persisted after coming up short on both competition shows. In 2018 she released her debut studio album 88. The album represented the year the singer was born. 88 consists of 12 tracks that has the singer back in her R&B lane. This was Ali’s last project, but she has continued to tour and perform live shows. Ali will be performing live at the 2022 SXSW festival.
