LL Cool J Hilariously Responds to Viral Tweet Calling Out His Music Videos

LL Cool J took to TikTok to explain some of the past decisions he made during the height of his rap career. The legendary rapper made headlines this week when a fan noticed ridiculous moments in LL Cool J’s music videos. The “Mama Said Knock You Out” rapper responded to each tweet to give his fans insight about his choices.
“Breaking my silence,” the rapper said before admitting his videos could be ridiculous. “That is my goal. I make my own rules.”
The video has already garnered over one million views. Wearing his signature style of a hat and sunglasses, the actor jumped right into explaining a moment in his “Headsprung” music video. In the video, LL Cool J can be seen pretending to play the guitar on a woman’s leg. Fans were not ready for his explanation.
The rapper was actually inspired by his father to do this move. When LL Cool J would ask his father if he worked out, his father’s response would be “the heaviest thing I lift is a woman’s leg.” The sexual innuendo set the bar for the rest of the rapper’s TikTok video.
In fact, most of his responses alluded to what LL Cool J has been known for: sex appeal. After all, his name does stand for Ladies Love Cool James.
LL Cool J also admitted that his behavior was “unhinged” and “chaotic” in the “Loungin” music video. His feature included him pouring chocolate on a woman’s leg. His response was that he should have “went further.”

With 13 albums, LL Cool J needed two TikTok videos to address his fans. This was the perfect way to honor the rapper’s legacy in 2022. The fun TikTok shows that he has been a trailblazer in the music industry. His music videos help set the standard of what a rapper could do in that space. In 1991 he won Best Rap Music Video at the MTV Video Music awards. He also won the Michael Jackson Lifetime Achievement honor at the award show in 1997.
Another highlight throughout LL Cool J’s responses was him addressing his “Deepest Blue” music video where he morphs into a shark. The video was for the rapper’s star turn in the cult movie classic Deep Blue Sea. LL Cool J’s rationale as to how he came out of the ocean wearing a dry hat in his “Paradise” video is a highlight as well.
LL Cool J has opted for more family friendly content these days. The rapper is executive producing the new dance competition show Come Dance With Me. Fans can also watch LL Cool J host the 2022 iHearRadio Music Awards on Tuesday, March 22.
