Frankie Jonas is daring to prove that he’s more than just the younger Jonas brother. The rising artist has recently debuted his first EP Sewer Rat, in an attempt to show that he’s “built different” from his older siblings.
Frankie Jonas Drops First Ever EP ‘Sewer Rat’
On June 21, Jonas revealed that he’s finally released his debut EP. According to the 22-year-old singer, he was in the process of creating Sewer Rat for years and even hesitated to put it out.
“It’s a labor of love that I’ve worked on for many years,” he wrote. “I wrestled with if I’d ever release anything. It is these songs that have pushed me to grow and put myself and my art into the world.”
Apparently, Jonas made the five tracks in the EP while in therapy, thus his doubts about the said sonic project. Bearing such struggle, he described the journey of finishing the EP to be “difficult but so rewarding.”
Meanwhile, the Jonas Brothers made a special post on Instagram to congratulate him on his newest music release. They also encouraged their followers to watch the visualizer of “Cherub,” the second track of the EP.
“Congrats @franklinjonas on your debut EP ‘Sewer Rat.’ So proud of you for putting your art out into the world! Everyone go watch the “Cherub” video now on YouTube!!” the caption reads.
The “Cocaine” singer then replied, expressing his gratitude for his brothers. As stated by the youngest Jonas brother, the three manage to inspire him everyday.
Some The Jonas Brothers Fans Think He Could Join The Band
Interestingly, some fans think that Frankie would be a worthy addition to the sibling band. In the comment section, one supporter expressed the belief that making him the fourth member of the boy group is not a bad idea.
“13 years on this fandom and still don’t understand why he’s not on the band with u guys,” one fan wrote.
“Add him to the band,” another user wrote.
However, it seems that the suggestion is not an option for the rising artist as he’s already decided to pursue music solo. Nonetheless, while he puts his brothers’ talents in high regard, he also acknowledges his own artistry.
“I could never do what they do,” he said. “They’re so incredible and they’ve created such an amazing career out of the Jonas Brothers and out of their solo careers. My art is my heart and it’s my soul, and that can be very painful and very intimate in a lot of ways.”
