AGT winner Grace VanderWaal’s new song “Waste My Time” is anything but, according to her fans. The 15-year-old released the track, along with an accompanying music video, on Friday morning.
Grace has come a long way from her shy girl ukulele-accompanied beginnings on the AGT stage. “Waste My Time” features a poppier sound and more grown-up lyrics. “Even though this is pointless / And even though this is hopeless / I just wanna waste my time / And I just wanna waste your time,” she sings.

The new video for the song features Grace hanging out at a convenience store on a rainy night. The store’s cashier turns out to be a mannequin, which doesn’t seem to faze Grace.

Fans shared what they thought of the song and accompanying clip on YouTube. One user wrote, “Her voice sounds more mature and beautiful.” Another commented that “this song has such a different vibe than her other songs and I love it.”

What’s Next For Grace VanderWaal
Grace kicks off her second headlining tour, called Ur So Beautiful after one of her recent songs, this weekend. In the past, she’s opened for such artists as Imagine Dragons and Florence + The Machine.
The singer also released another song called “Stray” back in February. She has yet to announce a follow-up album to her 2017 release Just the Beginning, but we’re glad to see her putting out so much new music.
In 2020, Grace will appear as the title character in a Disney movie called Stargirl.
