Every Celebrity Battle Advisor Ever on ‘The Voice’

After the Blind Auditions, the Battle Rounds are the place for artists to further secure their place in the competition. Once artists have joined their teams, Battle Advisors help their coach with mentoring. Fans have seen a variety of different Battle Advisors on The Voice for over two decades, so let’s take a look at them all.


Season 1

During the series’ debut season, Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine enlisted Adam Blackstone, while hiphop star CeeLo Green invited Monica. Christina Aguilera enlisted pop singer Sia, and Blake Shelton tapped fellow country idol Reba McEntire.

Season 2

In the second season, Team Adam had “Ironic” singer Alanis Morissette while Team CeeLo chose Babyface. Meanwhile, Team Christina invited singer-songwriter Jewel Kilcher. Team Blake then tapped American Idol champion Kelly Clarkson.

Season 3

During season three, Levine casted soul singer Mary J. Blige while Green tapped Rob Thomas from the band Matchbox Twenty. Aguilera, on the other hand, invited Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong. Lastly, Team Blake had Michael Bublé.


Season 4

During season four, Shakira and Usher joined The Voice as new coaches. The “Waka Waka” singer chose Good Charlotte’s Joel Madden. Usher, on the other hand, chose Pharrell Williams as his team’s Battle advisor. Meanwhile, Levine chose Hillary Scott and Shelton picked Sheryl Crow.

Season 5

During the fifth season, Team Adam had Ryan Tedder while Team CeeLo had Miguel Jontel Pimentel. Team Christina, on the other hand, invited Ed Sheeran. Cher also graced the show to serve as the Battle advisor for Team Blake.

Season 6

Aloe Blacc graced the show to help Team Adam during the series’ season six. Meanwhile, Miranda Lambert joined the show again to help Team Shakira. Team Usher invited Jill Scott, while Team Blake had The Band Perry. Artists from all teams also had the chance to work with Chris Martin.


Season 7

Stevie Nicks had the chance to step in The Voice when Levine tapped him to be his artists’ Battle advisors. Meanwhile, during Gwen Stefani’s first season, she invited her now ex-husband Gavin Rossdale. It was also Pharrell Williams’ first season and he chose Alicia Keys. Team Blake then had Little Big Town.  

Season 8

For the Battle rounds of season eight, Team Adam worked with Ellie Goulding. While Team Pharrell had Lionel Richie and Team Christina was mentored by Nick Jonas. Meghan Trainor worked with Team Blake this season.

Season 9

The Battle Advisors for season nine included rapper Missy Elliott for Team Pharrell and Creedence Clearwater Revival’s John Fogerty for Team Adam. Meanwhile, Team Blake had country musician Brad Paisley and Team Gwen had “Who Says” hitmaker Selena Gomez.

Season 10

During season 10, Team Adam accepted help from pop singer Tori Kelly. Team Pharrell, chose Sean Combs as their Battle Advisor while Team Christina had Patti LaBelle. Team Blake, on the other hand, enlisted past coach Gwen Stefani for this round.

Season 11

Season 11 was the introduction of Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys as coaches. Subsequently, Joan Jett helped Team Miley while Charlie Puth helped Team Alicia. For this season, Sammy Hagar helped Team Adam during the Battles. Team Blake, meanwhile, asked for Bette Midler’s help.

Season 12

Season 12 Battle Advisors include John Legend for Team Adam, Celine Dion for Team Gwen, DJ Khaled for Team Alicia, and Luke Bryan for Team Blake.

Season 13

During season 13, the “Wrecking Ball” singer (Miley Cyrus) returned and EGOT recipient Jennifer Hudson entered the show. At the time, Joe Jonas joined the series as a Battle rounds advisor for Team Adam. Billy Ray Cyrus came for Team Miley, Kelly Rowland came for Team Jennifer, and Rascal Flatts came for Team Blake.

Season 14

The Voice Season 14 was a total game changer, with the addition of Kelly Clarkson as a coach. Battle Advisors included Julia Michaels for Team Adam, Shawn Mendes for Team Alicia, Hailee Steinfeld for Team Kelly, and Trace Adkins for Team Blake.

Season 15

Season 15 of the series featured Levine, Clarkson, Hudson, and Shelton pitting against each other for one trophy. Respectively, CeeLo Green, Thomas Rhett, Halsey, and Keith Urban joined the fight, serving as Battle Rounds advisors for each team.

Season 16

Battle round advisors for season 16 included Charlie Puth for Team Adam and Kelsea Ballerini for Team Kelly. Meanwhile, Brooks & Dunn came to the show for serve as advisors for Team Blake. John Legend was the newest coach at the time, he chose Khalid to help his artists in the Battle Rounds.

Season 17

During season 17, Team Kelly casted Normani Hamilton as a Battle Advisor. Meanwhile, Team Gwen chose Will.i.am for the role, Legend chose Usher, while Team Blake chose Darius Rucker.

Season 18

Season 18 of the show saw Clarkson, Legend, Shelton, and newest coach Nick Jonas battle it out, until finals. During the Battle rounds, advisors included Dua Lipa for Team Kelly, Joe and Kevin Jonas for Team Nick, Ella Mai for Team Legend, and Bebe Rexha for Team Blake.

Season 19

During season 19, Battle Rounds advisors included Leon Bridges for Team Kelly and Julia Michaels for Team Gwen. For Team Legend, Miguel Jontel Pimentel served as the advisor while Team Blake had Kane Brown.

Season 20

Back in season 20, Battle Round advisors included Luis Fonsi for Team Kelly, Brandy for Team Legend, Darren Criss for Team Nick, and Dan + Shay for Team Blake.

Season 21

Season 21 Battle Rounds advisors included Jason Aldean for Team Kelly, Camila Cabello for Team Legend, and Dierks Bentley for team Blake. The same season also paved the way for Ariana Grande to serve as one of the series’ coaches. She chose Kristin Chenoweth as her team’s advisor.

Season 22

For season 22 Battle Rounds, Team Legend had Jazmine Sullivan. On the other hand, Team Gwen had Sean Paul while Team Camila had Charlie Puth. For Team Blake, he enlisted fellow country singer Jimmie Allen.

Season 23

At this time, the season 23 Battle Advisors have yet to be revealed. Fans cannot wait to see who Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton, Niall Horan, and Chance The Rapper respectively pick for their teams.
