DWTS’s James Van Der Beek Loses Baby and Gets Eliminated From the Show

We were all heartbroken during Dancing With the Stars on Monday when James Van Der Beek revealed that he and his wife, Kimberly, had lost the baby they had announced was on the way just a few weeks earlier. Now, Kimberly has spoken out on the sad and scary details of the loss.

Losing a Child
Kimberly posted some updates to her Instagram story Monday night, sharing further information about the situation:
“In 48 hours we lost our baby — boy, by the way — and I almost lost my life, which is not a story that has been told, but at some point I can dig into the details with you guys about what happened in the emergency room.
Drama on Dancing With The Stars
On top of that, James Van Der Beek was eliminated from Dancing With the Stars during Monday’s semi-finals episode (our recap of which you can read here!). Kimberly also touched upon that – including Ally Brooke‘s subsequent touching gesture – in her Instagram story.
“And James got eliminated from Dancing with the Stars. I’m pretty shocked. It is worth noting that Ally is a beautiful dancer and we love her like family. And she tried to give her spot to James, she tried quitting the show. Little angel. But yeah, I’m not really ready to talk further about everything yet, but at some point I will.”
James Speaks Out
James posted similar sentiments on his Instagram page, noting that while this was not the couple’s first miscarriage, it was one on a level of danger they had never experienced before.
